Confessions of a shoplifter
I began shoplifting just after I started signing on. I’d been laid off from my job in London – cutbacks, the recession, you know the script – and been forced to return to Edinburgh and a one-bedroom flat in Dalry with just enough to pay the deposit and first month’s rent.
