Fast cars, fast women, headbanging soundtrack: there's clearly nothing in this remake of Death Race 2000 to interest the average teenage boy. Should any junior Jeremy Clarkson types want to give it a whirl, Jason Statham (Crank) plays Jensen Ames, locked up for a crime he didn't commit.

Fast cars, fast women, headbanging soundtrack: there's clearly nothing in this remake of Death Race 2000 to interest the average teenage boy. Should any junior Jeremy Clarkson types want to give it a whirl, Jason Statham (Crank) plays Jensen Ames, locked up for a crime he didn't commit and trying to buy his freedom via televised races to the death. Paul WS Anderson's picture is fast, furious, and crazily watchable in its own way. Gleefully along for the ride are Ian McShane, playing a grizzled mechanic/sage, and Joan Allen (the Bourne series), hamming it up as a queen bitch prison warden. Do stay in your seat for the "don't try this at home, kiddies" warning at the end. Clarkson will love it.
