Dundas & Wilson, the Big Four Scottish law firm, yesterday announced the promotion of six senior associates to partner, taking the total number of UK partners to more than 80.

Three are based in Glasgow. They include Carina Healy, an intellectual property lawyer who leads the life sciences team. Her responsibilities include further developing Dundas's growth in IP work in this and other key industries.

Insolvency specialist Claire Massie, meanwhile, will target growth areas for Dundas's corporate recovery team across the UK as well as nurturing existing business relationships.

In real estate, Darina Kerr will be tasked with boosting the property team's presence across the UK.

In London, Nadim Meer focuses on private equity and merger and acquisition work. Ross Caldwell, who is relocating to London from Edinburgh, is a corporate banking specialist.

In Edinburgh, Trudi Craggs is a specialist in Dundas's multi-disciplinary planning team. She will continue to advise public and private sector clients on the authorisation processes for major, complex projects.

Michael McAuley, chairman of Dundas, said: "These six internal promotions highlight the calibre of the people we have within D&W across the UK. They demonstrate the firm's commitment, and these individuals' commitment and contribution, to growing our business across the UK in a focused and consistent way.

"In addition to the seven lateral partner hires we have made within the past 12 months, these appointments now bring our total number of partners in the UK to 83."

The appointments take effect on May 1.
