A murder inquiry was launched today after a young man died in a late-night street fight.
The 23-year-old man was involved in the disturbance in Edinburgh last night.
Police were called to the fight between a group of men in Wardieburn Street West, in the Granton area, at around 10.30pm.
The man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, but died from his injuries.
A murder investigation is under way and an incident room has been set up at the scene.
A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "We can confirm the death of a 23-year-old man in the Granton area.
"It was a relatively mild evening last night and we believe that there were a number of people who were in the area at around the time of the disturbance.
"Anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has any other information that can help our inquiries, should contact police as soon as possible."
