new moisturisers

The latest formulations might sound good, but will they actually work? Are they an improvement on that jar of cream on your dressing table?

This autumn there is a clutch of new moisturisers on the market, including creams that tackle ageing problems, creams to reduce redness or irritation and creams that will firm your skin.

The trend is to produce increasingly "weightless" moisturisers that can provide your skin with a plethora of benefits. Thick, sticky versions of the old-fashioned cold creams are not in vogue any more – instead we're being encouraged to use gels and lotions which claim to sink "effortlessly" into skin and leave no residue. Oil-free moisturisers and creams with a light whipped texture seem to be the order of the day.
