When you get a call from the David Gandy camp asking specifically for an exclusive Scottish Fashion Awards VIP prize, you know that he’s up to something uber cool!

Some of fashion’s biggest names including Claudia Schiffer, Victoria Beckham, Roland Mouret, Kate Moss, our very own Chris Kane, Dolce & Gabbana, Thom Sweeney, Philip Treacy, Louis Vuitton, GQ and my favourite snapper Rankin, are coming together to help fundraise for Red Nose Day in a fashion extravaganza on eBay.

David Gandy is a man, actually supermodel (think face of Dolce & Gabbana), who has attended our Scottish Fashion Awards red carpet 3 years in a row.

His red carpet pull is actually quite sensational. I have watched grown women swoon at his feet and in his ever-gracious form; he’s always charming, posing for snaps and smiling. And even more irritating for you blokes out there reading this, he’s actually a lovely chappy!

So the ‘GG’ (his nickname in my office with the team – you work it out…) has set up the ‘Blue Steel Appeal’, a series of events and initiatives to help raise money for Comic Relief through fashion.

So you can help this amazing cause by bidding or taking part in what is undoubtedly fashion history to compete for these incredible prizes.

If you fancy a lunch at the ‘invitation only’ Louis Vuitton apartment, complete with butler, a day on set with GG in the USA shooting his Lucky Jeans campaign, tickets to Victoria Beckham’s SS14 ready to wear show in New York, a Kate Moss Longchamp handbag or my favourite – sit for your own portrait with iconic photographer Rankin, then get online today!

One lucky couple could also win 2 VIP tickets to the Scottish Fashion Awards on 9th June and saunter down the red carpet, indulge in our exclusive VIP dinner and after party, mingling with the nations most exciting fashion talent and of course GG.

David said: “I love coming up to the Scottish Fashion Awards, I've been 3 years in a row now and always have a great time. It's a real highlight in the fashion calendar and I'm delighted to offer the opportunity for someone else to join the event this year as a VIP since Tess very kindly donated a pair of tickets to my Blue Steel Appeal.

“This year I'm the fashion ambassador for Red Nose Day and I set up the fundraising appeal to help raise money for Comic Relief through fashion and to have some fun around the Blue Steel/Zoolander connotations.

“There are lots of unique and money-can't-buy donations to bid on, every one with a fashion twist - not just the fashion lovers, but for everyone to enjoy. It's definitely worth taking a look. Hopefully people will dig deep and support us and will enjoy the donations they win.”

The auction will take place from March 7th – 17th 2013 and we’re told new items will be added throughout the week. If that’s a wee bit over your purse strings, next best and most fashionable thing to do is pick up an exclusive Red Nose Day t-shirt designed by Stella McCartney and available from TK Maxx online and in-store.

Whatever you decide to support, one thing is for sure; this is a charitable phenomenon that has raised some £600 million on its 25th anniversary and literally changes lives forever.

Behind the glitz and glamour, the fashion pack are standing tall, resting in the knowledge that the money raised helps the lives of those living in unimaginably tough lives in the UK and Africa. So come on everyone, ‘Do Something Funny for Money’!
