As much as we all have our fail safe shopping haunts, the new year is a great time to shake things up and give some different and exciting retailers a try.

The post sale blues are slowly arriving and all the best pieces were snapped up by anxious Boxing Day shoppers, leaving very little to get excited about.

It’s very easy to get stuck in a rut with your wardrobe, mostly because we are much too loyal to our high street favourites. Nothing will get you inspired for a new look in 2013 quite like discovering some great new shops.

I’ve compiled a list of some online retailers which most people are not too familiar with to give you a bit of inspiration. (And naturally, they are also very budget friendly!)

For Your Key Pieces

Pixie Market

A multi-brand online boutique which stocks some surprisingly affordable items. You can pick up some catwalk influenced pieces from about £20. I’m a big fan of this berry leather top, as pictured above. (£22.56)

Monki

With just one UK store (based on London’s Carnaby St.), Cos’s quirky and more affordable sister brand is still unfamiliar to many Scottish fashionistas. You can expect the same modern cuts, but with a bit more personality and a much lower price tag. The Gerda Dress would look at home on an Acne runway (£35)

For a Special Occasion

Three Floor Fashion

A new favourite with fashion magazines - Three Floor  has a designer aesthetic which is due to their impeccable attention to detail, however, their clothes don’t carry a designer price tag. This Motion Midi dress with neon accents would be perfect for a wedding guest (£138)

Virgos Lounge

Not for the faint hearted, Virgos Lounge is all about embellishment with a slight vintage vibe. This jumpsuit is ideal for adding a touch of Hollywood glamour (£85)

For Shoes & Accessories

StylistPick

This has to be my go to shop for affordable trend-led footwear, however they also have a great selection of bags and jewellery. If you take the style quiz, they can recommend the best products for you. These court shoes look great with a detailed heel (£45)

Golden Ponies

They make handcrafted beautiful leather shoes and accessories in Guadalajara, Mexico. They aim to offer fine basics with excellent craftsmanship at prices that everyone can afford. These beautiful pastel oxfords are currently in their sale (£25)

For Lingerie

Oysho

Now very much bookmarked in my favourite folder, Oysho offer the best affordable lingerie that I have come across. After ordering a few of their sets I was really impressed with the fit and quality - so promptly ordered more! However, they currently only go up to a C cup. This entire set is in their sale (Bra/Thong/Suspender/Stockings £35.66)

If you have any tips on other retailers which might provide something a little bit different, please feel free to leave a link to them in the comments.
