Scotland Re:Designed, the platform that nurtures homegrown fashion design talent, will make its return to Glasgow next month for its annual showcase. 

Held in Finnieston's SWG3, a programme of workshops has been announced offering guidance and support to Scottish fashion and interiors businesses, as well as the general public. 

As well as a further three workshops to be announced which will cover business development, business economics and starting a business, the programme runs as follows:

Wednesday, November 19th

10am-11.30am:

That don't impress me much - what are the do's and don'ts when approaching buyers?

Sarah Murray, buyer and owner of luxury Scottish boutique Jane Davidson offers her tips for designers to make the best approach to buyers.

12pm-1.30pm:

"We are bound by the law, so that we may be free" Marcus Tullius Cicero - legal basics you should know

Loretta Maxfield, of Thorntons Law LLP IP, IT and Media Team, presents a valuable overview of what you should know when starting or growing your business.

2pm-3.30pm:

Collaboration - are two heads better than one?

Kestin Hare of Common People will present to his experience of collaborating with another designer on a limited edition range, has it enhanced, or diluted his brand, what are the potential pit-falls and does he anticipate commercial success?

4pm - 5.30pm:

What next - so you want to be a designer?

What help and support is available to help you realise your dream? 

From business advice to funding applications, studio space and mentoring, this presentation will point you in the right direction. 

Chris Hunt, founder of SR:D and Project Manager of Fashion Foundry, will be joined by an expert guest answering questions and discussing the process and the many great resources there are whether in fashion, interiors or accessories.

Friday, November 21st

11am-1pm:

Are you simply trendy, or are you creating trends for a new generation?

Melanie Rickey, one of the founding editors of Grazia, and an editor and panellist for British Fashion Council NEWGEN initiative, interprets trends daily for both businesses and her website www.fashioneditoratlarge.com.

However in her role with NEWGEN she is often confronted with designers who follow others rather than walk their own path. Hear her thoughts on the differences.
