In the first of a new series, 21 year old Edinburgh model Tara Nowy, and daughter of Marillion frontman Fish, talks about her career so far
Where are you from?
I’m half Scottish (Edinburgh), and half German (Berlin).
When did you get into modelling and why?
A family friend, David Darling, asked if I could help him out on a shoot in summer 2006. I turned up dressed in ripped baggy jeans, a fleecy jumper, no make-up, top knot and glasses, with no intention or interest in modelling. Billie Mobayed had been visiting David in Scotland, so she helped out with the shoot. David’s wife Gitte did a fabulous job on make-up and on completing the photo shoot, Billie asked me to go to Dubai for a month with David by my side. Modelling grew on me and I became a different person in front of the camera, I was able to come out of my shell. Before I left to go back to Scotland she asked me to join her agency, I had really come to love modelling and signed the contract to LMM Dubai with Billie.
