A new e-commerce site, Love from Indie Street, has been set-up to offer shoppers the option of hitting the high street from the comfort of their armchair.
Love from Indie Street is a virtual smorgasbord of Edinburgh's best independent restaurants, shops and services, and allows users to select and purchase a thoughtful gift voucher for Christmas, birthdays or just because.
The venture, which was set up by founder Rebecca Christensen as a way to encourage local businesses and eschew big name brands, was launched with over 40 of Edinburgh's hippest and best-loved retailers, and also offers visitors the chance to create their own wish-lists or alternative wedding lists.
Offerings include fresh flowers from Narcissus or Rose and Ammi, afternoon tea at The Howard or Eteaket, dinner at Purslane, The Raeburn or The Stockbridge Restaurant, and garments from The Brotique and Eden.
Always a Christmas classic, gourmet hampers are also for sale from 181 Deli or Henri's of Edinburgh.
