Ladies' Day at Royal Ascot

Though there were plenty of flamboyant hats on display at Ladies Day, the most common accessory proved to be the umbrealla, as race-goers determined to enjoy the spectacle despite threatening skies.

A regular race-goer, singer Katherine Jenkins attended in a white and silver matching dress and hat, while The Only Way is Essex star Amy Childs was a striking figure in black and white

Carole Middleton, mother of the Duchess of Cambridge, chose one of the single-colour outfits that have become her trademark, in this case cutting an elegant figure in a deep red suit.
