He may have been born in the Bronx, but Bruce Molsky's musical spirit was formed somewhere between the hills of Kentucky, the Mississippi delta and a Bulgarian village wedding. Old-time fiddle tunes, cowboy ballads, amiable blues and the occasional Balkan dance measure are this multi-instrumentalist and singer's stock in trade, all of them sounding like his natural element and all presented with knowledge, enthusiasm and a warm, unassuming on-stage manner.
