Prawn cocktail

A classic starter credited to the English restaurant critic and chef Fanny Cradock, prawn cocktail has never really gone out of fashion.

Done properly, it's simple to prepare, delicious and great for a dinner party.

What you need first are good, plump, peeled prawns, which I prefer to king prawns since the latter can be a little tough to eat and less flavoursome when served cold.
