The Jigger Inn

Old Course Hotel

St Andrews

What is it? My travels this week took me to the heart of the home of golf. The Jigger Inn is situated almost on the fairway of the 17th hole on the world's most famous golf course. The old whitewashed building sticks out like a sore (but very quaint) thumb next to the main modern part of the hotel. The building itself dates back to the 1850s when it was the station masters lodge. The bar is compact to say the least with lots of booths and hideaways. The decor is everything you would want from a golf pub, green carpets, pew style seating and antique golf memorabilia everywhere.
