DIY Cocktails: hot buttered rum
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, the cat snuggled on your toes… A hot buttered rum is the perfect warming festive drink to accompany board games, present wrapping and quality family time.
Here's how to make your own at home.
Ingredients
2 ½ oz dark rum
Boiling water
1 teaspoon of dark brown sugar
1 stick cinnamon
1 clove
1 teapoon salted butter
Nutmeg
Method
1 Combine the rum, sugar, clove and cinnamon in a mug.
2 Top with the boiling water and butter, stir well, and garnish with nutmeg.
