When the sun is shining, there's no better way to make the most of it than eating and drinking outdoors.

This week, our Glasgow and Edinburgh Yelpers bring you some of the best spots to dine outdoors.

An Clanchan

Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow West End

Sarah M says this is "a lovely wee independent cafe nestled in the trees of Kelvin Park. It has an earthy, bohemian vibe with a wholesome, whole foodie menu, gorgeous natural wood fittings and furniture and even a piano on the porch. There is outside seating but good luck as this is a popular place on a dry day."

Wings

5/7 Old Fishmarket Close, Old Town, Edinburgh

It might not be much to look at, but nothing beats great beer & chicken wings in the sunshine and Terri B promises, "a mahousive range of flavours to cater for every taste bud."

Booly Mardys

28 Vinicombe Street, Glasgow West End

Austen M says "if you're lucky you will get some sunshine as well and be able to sit outside and watch the world go by."

Ecco Vino

19 Cockburn Street, Old Town, Edinburgh

Take it from Jackie and "sit outside on wooden picnic style tables and enjoy the lovely light that falls on Cockburn Street. Ecco Vino is a real treat."

Amarone

Nelson Mandela Place Glasgow City Centre

"With it being a lovely evening on Saturday they had a seated area set up outside where we sat and had a cocktails before dinner which was a great way to start the evening," tips Pammi G.

The Dome Garden Cafe

14 George St, New Town, Edinburgh

"It really is an oasis! Because it is down some steps it is in its own little cul-de-sac, avoiding the wind yet trapping the sun. If it rains they have a lovely cover too. It's a great place!" - Emily T

Rogano

11 Exchange Place, Glasgow City Centre

With a relaxed outdoor, covered seating area, this is a spot to visit if you're looking for al fresco with a touch of class. Gordon M tried the "fillet of beef, medium rare, which ... well I'm not sure how else to describe it but fellow steak lovers will know what I mean when I say that each bite induced a small mouthgasm! Succulent, smooth, and perfectly cooked, I could quite happily have just eaten that, but the thick cut chips were great, crispy but floaty light inside, and the thick slabs of meaty mushroom brought the whole dish together while a drizzling of hollandaise added that perfect zing."

The Cumberland Bar

1 - 3 Cumberland Street, New Town, Edinburgh

With a "wonderful variety of beers" and a "fantastic beer garden which inevitably ends up packed at the first hint of sunlight" Emily H thinks this should be your next sunshine destination.

West

Glasgow Green, Glasgow

Trudie M has "eaten in west a number of times, having tasted a range of their food from the fish and chips to the curry wurst! Another great option is their mussels." And if the weather is nice, "bring a rug - their huge beer garden has enough room to fit everyone in!"

Peter's Yard

27 Simpson Lone, Edinburgh

Alisa R says "they have lovely loose leaf tea that is rich and full bodied! And the pastries, each time I have been there I have not been disappointed. This last time I got a raspberry linzer tart and it was amazing , with my last bite I was sad it was over. I think its a nice cosy cafe, and even provides blankets if you are cold and sitting outside."
