This week it's Chinese.

Feast Chinese

85 Dalry Road, Haymarket, Edinburgh

Claire C indulges in the Set Menu B. "There is a lot of food to eat," she remarks, including "sticky ribs, satay, and spring rolls" to start. Where the mains are concerned, she highly recommends the "crispy shredded duck, sweet and sour battered prawns, and beef in ginger".

Asia Style

185 St Georges Road, Charing Cross, Glasgow

Lex G recommends that you "dine on ultra-savoury Malaysian pancakes which you generously coat with a luscious curry sauce with a kick. Crispy chilli and salt squid and soft shell crab are not to miss, nor are the noodles or the duck!"

New Lee On

4-5 Bruntsfield Place, Bruntsfield, Edinburgh

"I love it!" swoons Alex J. "It's not fancy, but it's colourfully decorated inside and has some lovely staff". She dines in with a bowl of "sweet and sour soup" and heaped helping of "Singapore noodles".

Lychee Oriental

59 Mitchell Street, Glasgow City Centre

Jules M "chose the vegetable spring rolls with a chili dip and salad to start, followed by vegetables in black bean sauce and egg fried rice". The lunch menu is £9.80 for a starter and main!

Kweilin Restaurant

19-21 Dundas Street, New Town, Edinburgh

"One of the classic old gentlemen of the Cantonese restaurant scene in Edinburgh", this is where Cheryl C goes to fill up on "lemon chicken and the everlastingly good chow mein". Even after all that she still manages a banana fritter. "Tremendous".

Banana Leaf

67 Cambridge Street, Glasgow City Centre

"The stand outs for me were the squid and scallops - perfectly cooked, they just melted in your mouth. I also really liked the beef brisket curry and happily devoured it with the rice," raves Austen M.

Stack Dim Sum

42 Dalmeny Street, Leith, Edinburgh

"Stack is full of surprises," says Richard C. "The asparagus and salmon dumplings were a bit of a highlight for me, and I particularly love the smashed squid cakes - these flash-fried little packages of loveliness are a delight."

Ho Wong

82 York Street, Glasgow City Centre

Scott C sampled the business lunch menu - £11.90 for two courses. "Lovely fried rice and the beef gumbo was delicious; the thick beef strips and peppers working their magic in my mouth."

Karen's Unicorn

8b Abercromby Place, New Town, Edinburgh

Michelle P has been "waiting for a long time to find a place that compares to the quality I was used to in the SF bay area, but Karen's Unicorn delivered. I was impressed by the light and fresh vegetable spring rolls and the warm towels between courses."

Opium

191 Hope Street, Glasgow City Centre

The real star on this menu is the dim sum, as Hayley M agrees. "You can choose from steamed or fried.  I opted for the crab meat and chive dumpling which was meltingly good! We also got chilli & salt pepper squid which was battered lightly and XO tiger prawns and scallops which were tasty and not too spicy."
