The Scottish Cafe and Restaurant

The Grill on the Corner

21-25 Bothwell Street, Glasgow

Marc F recommends here for "fussy eaters" - "the waiter couldn't have been more accommodating and kind". So if you have dietary requirements, then head here for their 3 course Christmas lunch for £24.95 featuring turkey with all the trimmings.

New York Steam Packet

31 Rose Street Lane North, New Town, Edinburgh

The Christmas menu at this all-American BYOB diner heaves into harbour at just £18.95 for three courses. The starter of "lovely and crispy" deep-fried potato skins with "tangy" chili mayo is a winner for Claire L, especially followed by the "huge" sirloin steak, "cooked to perfection".

The Curler's Rest

256-260 Byres Road, Glasgow

Raving about the Christmas menu, Joe H says "at the bargain price of £19 for two courses at Christmas, I can honestly say that I haven't had any better for this price". Three courses for £22 and vegetarians are happily accommodated!

David Bann

56-58 St Mary's Street, Old Town, Edinburgh

Julie G aims to pick a favourite for each time of year at this seasonal vegetarian restaurant, and of her winter choices, the "Jerusalem artichoke and celeriac puff pastry" forms part of the set menu for Christmas, with two courses at £16.50 or £21.50 for three.

The Living Room

150 St Vincent Street, Glasgow

If you're looking for "a restaurant that tries a little harder and manages to be both relaxed and informal while turning out excellent fare" then Andrew M tips you head here.  Christmas lunch comes in at £18.50 per person with a delicious sounding bacon chop as an option for main!

L'Escargot Blanc

17 Queensferry Street, West End, Edinburgh

When sampling this French spot's three-course festive set menu at £19.95, Nadya S was delighted with her "huge, plump and tasty" mussels and particularly impressed with the chocolate tart for dessert: "Very French, very rich and very dark. Yum".

The Hanoi Bike Shop

8 Ruthven Lane, Glasgow

With a 3-course menu for £22.95 you can try something a little exotic this year! They make their own tofu so why not try the Bike Shop tofu, spinach and Brussels sprouts in chili and lemongrass?

La Garrigue

31 Jeffrey Street, Old Town, Edinburgh

A "thoroughly great restaurant that I would definitely recommend," declares Nic G. The "top quality" food comes at "affordable prices," too with a £15.50 three-course set menu for groups (8 to 50 people).

The Sisters

36 Kelvingrove Street, Glasgow
