Jon B swung by to give this place a try - "it's the perfect place for lunch/brunch and/or a light boozy afternoon to catch up with a friend". There's a small menu with favourites like pancakes, a fry up, omelette or for something different, grilled sardines!

This all-day brunch café serves pancakes, waffles, full breakfasts, eggs poached or scrambled and omelettes morning to eve, seven days a week. Tanya L's Big Bear Breakfast was "absolutely huge and perfectly done with delicious black pudding and sausages, and succulent cooked tomatoes".
North Star Café & Bistro

"If you're visiting the Botanic Gardens and fancy brunch", Catriona M recommends you make the short walk. "The French toast will be everything you hoped it would be". In addition, "the coffee is good and the service is friendly. The food is filling and hearty!"

This gorgeous old Victorian building is both "a cosy old pub and a brunch destination du jour". Jason M's "eggs Benedict and Bloody Mary were excellent" and with some unusual options like "shredded duck wrap and rabbit burger", it's a perfect pub-stop!

Raving about the eggs mornay with crispy bacon, April R say it was "cooked to perfection and the cheddar sauce was creamy and complimented the meal well. Oh, and the hot chocolate was really good too!"

Alan S and his missus went for "the Roseleafer veggie breakfast and the Big Yin". Both "were served in a griddle pan and came with copious amounts of great breakfast food". They've got tattie stacks and eggs Benedict with black pudding too!

Heading in as a group, Jess L and others went for the "Spanish omelette and big ol' coffee with chorizo and mozzarella. Other team members had the Italian one which was olive and pesto." She sums it up by saying "yum".

This bright spacious café offers all day weekend brunch, and often has gluten free bread too which means no one has to miss out on the scrambled egg with salmon! They've also got a whole table of cakes and scones, which kept Kristin C tiding over till her brunch arrived!

All made with the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. Sharon M had a "revelation" when she tried eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. And she considered it "the finest breakfast in all the land".
