THIS week, Yelpers share their picks of where to get a plate piled high with cheesy, chilli goodness and a dollop of guac for good measure from Glasgow to Edinburgh!
Pinto
138 Queen Street, Glasgow city centre
Andrew M loves the "nachos with cheese sauce, pulled pork, hot salsa, sour cream, jalapeños and guacamole! Mock-Mex this is not."
Miros Cantina Mexicana
184 Rose Street, Edinburgh
Maria P says "the food is rustic but oh so good - if you are looking for proper nachos with gorgeous homemade dips, sizzling spicy fajitas, slow cooked flavoursome lamb, tasty quesadillas and frozen margaritas, look no further."
Nachos
15 Skirving Street, Glasgow south side
"Excellent value, food and service are the three things I look for in a restaurant and this place has them all," raves Joe P.
Tex Mex 2
64 Thistle Street, Edinburgh
Tanja R "ordered the nachos grande and learned my lesson that when it says this dish is good for sharing - it definitely is. I did not even manage a third of it. Nachos with cheese, sour cream, salsa sauce, guacamole, chicken (instead of vegetarian) and bean sauce."
The Blue Chair
85 High Street, Glasgow
The nachos are served with sour cream and lots of cheese, and you'll be pleased to find the cheese and salsa are evenly distributed over the nachos, not just on top. You also get a good amount of chicken.
Antojito Cantina
1 Bristo Square, Edinburgh
With "proper hand-made nachos," Jenny L was impressed that the "beef and pork are both made with beans, stewed and cooked over a long time, and are a very generous helping over the nachos."
Bibi's
599 Dumbarton Road, Glasgow west end
Brian P raves about the "chilli beef nachos which have got to be the best nachos I have tried in Glasgow!"
The Auld Hoose
23 St Leonards Street, Edinburgh
Kirsten B "shared a bowl of mega nachos that are suggested for 3-4 people. They came pretty quickly and looked amazing . Great ratio of toppings to nachos, as so often there is just not enough. Chilli beef, guacamole, sour cream and cheese throughout."
Las Iguanas
16 West Nile Street, Glasgow city centre
Paula H "highly rated the prawns, nachos, smoked turkey enchiladas and chicken skewers.". Options toppings include barbeque and jalapeno shredded steak, smoked chipotle chicken, chilli con carne, chorizo or refried black beans.
Nacho Fiesta
Fountain Park Centre, Edinburgh
Tanya L tried the "chicken nachos - they were pretty great! I ordered the sea bass cooked fajita-style and served on top of plentiful onions and peppers, with curly fries on the side."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
