This week, we've got something to crow about, since wings are ruling the roost in Glasgow and Edinburgh!
Yelpers bring you their picks for their hottest spots to snack away.
Buddy's Bar, Diner & Grill
677 Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow
Tom M "selected the chipotle chicken wings, just six, but they're sizeable, with crispy breaded coating and smothered in lovely smoky chipotle. They really are fabulous and I'd happily sit with a portion of twelve and work my way through them."
Wings
5/7 Old Fishmarket Close, Old Town, Edinburgh
If you ask Jane D, "this place deserves more than 5 stars! An amazing little gem that you equally want to loudly rave about it but also keep it a secret to ensure you can always get a table. The choices for the wings toppings are great from dry rubs to tantalising sauces!"
Meat Bar
142 West Regent Street, Glasgow
Craig S "was presented with three plump and juicy wings, which had been marinaded with a dry rub, smoked and finally finished with a barbecue glaze. This gave them a sweet, smoky flavour with a nice kick of heat at the end, absolutely delicious!"
Jake's Place
9-13 Market Street, Old Town, Edinburgh
What's the key to a great wing? Shona F thinks, that at Jake's, "the wings are good because they are fresh - they're fried when ordered. They also come with a tasty blue cheese dipping sauce."
The Raven
81-85 Renfield Street, Glasgow
Chicken wings are served up with a blue cheese dip, and you can choose between honey and mustard glaze, or BBQ sauce. Christina M recommends the "great selection of beers on tap and in the bottle fridge, and all are reasonably priced."
Kampung Ali
97-101 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh
Angela P promises, "their starters are real winners. My boyfriend loved the roti, and the honey chicken wings were great. Sometimes chicken wings end up sort of small and dry, but these were huge and juicy and a large portion for the price."
Burger Meats Bun
48A West Regent Street, Glasgow
Austen M raves about "the Seoul chicken wings - which tasted amazing and more importantly the meat fell off the bone so easily. I would go as far as to say these are the best cooked chicken wings I have ever had!"
The Apiary
33 Newington Road, Edinburgh
If you're willing to go for broke, Jurgen D suggests taking down one of the sharing boards with a fellow carnivore: "this beat came with beef ribs, pork ribs and chicken wings, alongside slaw, chips and the obligatory side salad. Fair to say we destroyed it! All of it was delicious...it was fairly nutritious and all in all I was a very happy JD!"
TGI Fridays
113 Buchanan Street, Glasgow
James N "shared the Times Square Platter. Despite the fact that this serves 2-3 people it more than filled a hole and gave us a delicious variety of things filled with cheese ... a heap load of chicken wings and other things. Everything on this giant plate was delicious and they didn't scrimp on the portions!"
Hong
21 Argyle Place, Marchmont, Edinburgh
Take it from Tom G, not only do, "they do a really mean Peking sauce," but "the chilli salted chicken wings are the bomb - the portions are really good also, though not cheap, it is value for money!"
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
