Dave Gannon's Indian flatbread pizzas, which combines the classic Italian dish with curry, will hit the shelves of Scotmid Co-operative stores on Monday, October 7. The release date coincides with National Curry Week.
The dish uses a naan bread as the pizza base and curry sauce instead of tomato. The idea for the pizzas, which will initially be sold for £3, came to Gannon, a well-respected chef, when he was making food for his staff at an Indian restaurant in the French ski resort of Chamonix.

Gannon launched his range at the Speciality & Fine Food Fair at the Olympia, London in September. He has now signed an exclusive three month deal with Scotmid Co-operative and has plans to expand his range next year.
He said: "It's exciting after years of hard work to be finally bringing Curry Dave's Indian Flatbread Pizzas to the market - we've had hundreds of taste testers helping us to perfect our recipes and the feedback has been brilliant. We're confident that people are going to love them and have big plans for the future of Curry Dave."
Colin McLean, Chief Operating Officer for Scotmid Co-operative said: "As Scotland's largest independent co-operative society, Scotmid is committed to supporting local Scottish suppliers. We are delighted to be working with Curry Dave on this exciting launch of products for our stores and we look forward to finding out what our customers think about the new range."
