David Cameron began his final cabinet meeting before the May General Election by giving out bottles of the 4.5% Co-ale-ition golden ale made by Wychwood brewery - a small company located in the heart of his Oxfordshire constituency.

The ale, which has oak and zesty lemon notes and is recommended for 'unconventional pairing', was specially commissioned by Cameron for the meeting and was produced in a limited run of 50 bottles.

Co-ale-ition ale was given to Cameron's cabinet colleagues as well as aides, advisers and officials.

Chris Keating from Wychwood Brewery said:

"We are delighted the PM has chosen to support a local business from his constituency to reflect on the last five years and commemorate the occasion with a specially crafted beer for his colleagues."

The brewery hit headlines last year when it teamed up with Status Quo to produce the band's Piledriver classic English ale - traditional malty amber ale balanced with fruit hop character. It offers drinkers a hint of toffee, caramel and a roasted flavour.

Also at the cabinet meeting, Nick Clegg gave out tubs of Henderson's Spicy Yorkshire Sauce crisps, branded Coalition Crunch. He is the MP for Sheffield Hallam.
