The Tron Kirk on Edinburgh's historic Royal Mile has been transformed into the capital's first seven days a week produce market, showcasing Scotland's best food and crafts.

Launched as part of the 2015 Year of Food and Drink, Royal Mile Market aims to offer a central hub for visitors and local shoppers alike.  Local crafters and food producers will share the space in the heart of the city and offer an alternative to tourist souvenirs and fast food.

The project is the brainchild of the man behind Earthy Markets Pete Jackson, who says that the Royal Mile Market is the next logical step to bring great produce to the public.

"The Tron Kirk is an iconic landmark and I immediately fell in love with the space and set about creating something special inside that is different from the mass of stuff on the Royal Mile.

"My inspiration for this project is the fantastic markets you encounter overseas where people sell their wares with love and energy. For the first time, that same spirit will be available in Edinburgh", said Pete.

Royal Mile Market is open from 10am to 7pm Monday to Friday and from 11am to 5pm at weekends.
