Not to be confused with Glasgow's Ox and Finch or OX on London Street, Ox184 is the latest calf to be born into the family of Scottish restaurants with beast monikers.

Located on the Cowgate (but of course), the eatery offers American-inspired edibles including lobster rolls, and dinky bacon and corn muffins.

There are also novel drink concepts including whisky and pickling brine (in separate shot glasses) guaranteed to put an entire rug on your chest, never mind hairs.

Pork cheek nuggets as

pink and tender as a Scot

in June: drool-worthy.

The cost of dinner for two including drinks from Ox184, 184 Cowgate, Edinburgh EH1 1JJ, is around £40. Visit www.ox184.co.uk for more information.
