Chef and Herald Scotland blogger Jacqueline O'Donnell is hoping food fans will join her for a weekend of tasty treats at this year's feastRen Food and Drink Festival.

Jacquline, who writes the Simply Special blog and is patron of The Sisters restaurants in Glasgow's west end, will be joined by a host of other well-known chefs and some famous faces for East Renfrewshire's annual celebration of food and drink.

The event runs over the weekend of September 21 and 22.

Among the other chefs taking part and running demonstations will be John Quigley of Red Onion, Ryan James of The Buttery and Two Fat Ladies, Seumas MacInnes from Café Gandolfi and Guy Cowan of Guys. Top Jewish cook Hilary Harris will also be running a demonstration.

There will also be competitions, storytellers, street food, a mini-farmers market and a craft fair.

Saturday afternoon will feature the Great Giffnock Bake Off and Saturday night will see River City's Libby McArthur go head-to-head with her former on-screen chum Joyce Falconer in a Ready Steady Cook-style competition. Elsewhere, hot from his Edinburgh Festival success, The Half Naked Chef will perform a comedy cooking demo.

Look out too for local restaurants deals from September 7 to 20.

Festival tickets are £5 - under fives go free - and family tickets cost £12.50.
