Food lovers are in for a tasty treat when a new burger restaurant with Michelin star credentials opens in Glasgow next month.

Burger Meats Bun will open in West Regent Street on Friday, July 5.

The restaurant, which has a New York underground vibe, is the brainchild of Ben Dantzic and James Forrest, who met while working at the renowned Michelin-starred Peat Inn in Fife.

It specialises in burgers made from Scotch beef and organic chicken and uses ingredients from local artisan suppliers and producers including cheesemonger George Mewes, Gartmorn Farm and The Aberfoyle Butcher.

It also offers a number of independent Scottish beers.

Dantzic, who has worked in a selection of Michelin-starred restaurant and was manager at Restaurant Andrew Fairlie in Gleneagles Hotel, said: “Burger Meats Bun fuses high quality produce and mouth-watering recipes with a cool interior and atmosphere to offer a brilliant, yet accessible culinary experience and we’re really excited to be bringing this new concept to Glasgow.”

Chef and part-owner Forrest, who has worked in Etain and The Peat Inn, added: “From our experience working in the fine dining sector with some of the best chefs in the UK, we noticed a real gap in the market for a casual concept, using first-class ingredients and making everything from scratch, and Burger Meats Bun does just that!”
