Free school meals should be extended to all

There is no question that more urgency is needed from schools, but also government, to ensure all our children are able to eat healthily at school (Schools told: do more to beat junk food crisis; Could lunch time lock-ins cut obesity?, The Herald, January 15). However, alongside further improving the quality of school meals and the dining environment, or the consideration of lunch-time "lock-ins", more action is needed to remove the cost barriers that discourage children from taking school meals.
