Around 350 walkers are expected to take part in the Life Walk in Glasgow on Saturday, October 25, taking in buildings and banter en route.
Starting at Kelvingrove Park, the circular trail includes Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow Cathedral, Glasgow Green (where there'll be a lunch of soup and sandwiches), the People's Palace and many points of interest along the Clyde walkway.
Olympian and Maggie's supporter Yvonne Murray is taking part. "I am really looking forward to it," she says. "I have had close family members with cancer, who received fantastic support from Maggie's. I also benefited greatly from visiting a centre, as Maggie's recognise that the family needs support, too. "
There will be a carnival atmosphere at the start of the walk, with face-painting for children, tea, coffee, snacks and inspiring speeches, before everyone sets off at 10am. Maggie's Edinburgh will hold their Life Walk on Saturday, November 1.
Maggie's Glasgow Life Walk is sponsored by property advisors Ryden. The firm's managing partner, Fiona Morton, said: "We are proud to be involved again in such a fun, high-profile community event." Ryden has been a corporate friend of Maggie's for more than a year.
