Bobbi Brown: I do what I do to empower women

When make-up artist Bobbi Brown was asked by Michelle Obama to participate in a mentoring programme for young women, she found herself standing in front of high-school students speaking against the industry in which she has made her name.

"Bobbi showed the terrible retouching that's done in the industry," says Maureen Case, global president of the Bobbi Brown make-up brand and the right-hand woman to the artist. While some beauty companies are heavy-handed during the retouching and airbrushing process, Bobbi Brown takes the natural approach – making exceptions for minor non-cosmetic details only, says Case.
