What do you get when you mix Holly Fulton's crystal-studded bomber jacket with an Alice Palmer tuxedo-style evening dress and some beautifully designed Rosie Sugden cashmere socks?

The very best of Scottish fashion, that's what.

Each of these designers has been nominated for a 2012 Scottish Fashion Award. Along with fellow nominees, clothing labels Spencer and Dashing Tweeds, they represent the very best of style.

From the textile mills in the Borders to the celebrated and award-winning designers showing at London Fashion Week, Scottish fashion talent continues to go from strength to strength.

The fashion awards, which take place on June 11 in the Clyde Auditorium, has built its reputation on celebrating this wealth of talent. This year the ceremony will be presented by style icon Alexa Chung – it is also the first time the event is open to the public, with tickets priced at £35.

As well as the nominees featured in our fashion shoot the awards has honoured some of the biggest names in Scottish (and indeed British) fashion right now. Other nominees include Christopher Kane, Jonathan Saunders and model Tali Lennox. Textile brands Hawick Cashmere and Caerlee Mills are also in the running for an award.

The Herald and Sunday Herald are media partners with the event and are sponsoring the Young Scottish Fashion Photographer of the Year category. Nominees for that category include Philip Stanley Dickson, Anna Isola Crolla, Jonathan Daniel Pryce and Paul Cameron.
