This new three day autumn food and drink show brings together more than 100 producers from across the country. Visitors can try and buy from a huge range of traditional regional specialties including meat, fish, cheeses, beers and fresh produce, plus baking, chocolates and confectionary. As well as talks, tastings and demonstrations throughout the weekend, there's also the chance to learn more with a series of hands-on masterclasses with a team of top chefs. Touring, from tomorrow

The comedian, actor, writer, globetrotter and all-round showbiz nice guy embarks on what is, remarkably, his first ever one man tour - stopping off in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness and Edinburgh from tomorrow. In the first half of the show he'll be discussing Travelling To Work, the third volume of his memoirs covering his move into travel broadcasting at the end of the 1980s, while the second half finds him looking back at an illustrious entertainment career spanning the 1960s right up to the recent live Monty Python reunion. www.palinstravels.co.uk

A rousing conclusion to a summer of open air concerts in Glasgow, headlined by Welsh classical chart-topper Katherine Jenkins. This weekend also marks the return of this annual festival of music, food, drink and family fun. As well as a range of gastronomic treats from the west of Scotland, there will be performances from more than 120 different traditional folk acts including headliners Skerryvore and Capercaillie. There's also a demonstration kitchen, craft stalls, a whisky bar showcasing local distilleries, and a host of children's activities such as laser tag, climbing walls and a bouncy castle. Family Edwardian Day

Part of the Usher Hall's centenary celebrations, this family friendly day of historical fun offers a look behind the scenes at one of Scotland's most esteemed concert venues. Shedding light on what life might have been like when it was first opened in 1914, the day will include four 60-minute building tours in the company of costumed performers, exploring areas not usually open to the public including the stage itself. fresh'n'lo Pedal For Scotland Aberdeen Ride

Scotland's biggest bike ride comes north for a second year with this laidback Sunday morning spin for families. Setting off and returning to Duthie Park from 10am, the free event uses a new five-mile, traffic free loop of the Deeside Way and is suitable for cyclist of all ages and levels of ability. The day will also feature a cycling expo with bike skills sessions, stalls and activities for children. Glasgow Tower

With life getting back to normal in Glasgow after a busy summer, now could be the time to revisit Scotland's tallest free standing building. Now with an updated interior and enhanced safety features, Glasgow Science Centre's one-of-a-kind observation tower was re-opened in July following four years of closure. After a short underground walk to the base of the tower, visitors ascend to the top via a two-and-a-half-minute lift ride, emerging to a panoramic viewing platform 127 meters above the Clyde. City of Stirling 10K Road Race

Another opportunity to sharpen up for autumn with this Scottish Athletics-licensed event taking in the north-east outskirts of Stirling and meandering bends of the Forth. Doubling as the Scottish 10K Road Championships, the route is described as fast, flat and scenic, and said to be ideal for runners attempting the distance for the first-time. Social In The Square

Described as Scotland's first ever social enterprise festival, this new event showcases the goods, services and activities of a number of local not-for-profit organisations and community initiatives with two days of food, fun, live music and dance. Alongside tastings and demonstrations from a line-up of city chefs, there will be market stalls selling fairtrade goods, handmade crafts, upcycled fashion, and toys. And, as well as a rolling live performance programme, there are pottery sessions, calligraphy demonstrations, plus outdoor play and storytelling for kids. www.socialinthesquare.com

Jeepers Creepers: The Works of Eduardo Paolozzi

McManus Gallery, Dundee, from Saturday

A new exhibition bringing together all material by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi held in Dundee collections for the first time. A major figure in 20th century British art, the highly influential Leith-born artist, sculptor and printmaker died in 2005 aged 81. Along with major works such as large scale sculpture Ettso and abstract canvas Jeepers Creepers, also on display will be a selection of prints loaned from the City of Dundee and Dundee University.
