This is a lovely and varied walk on the wooded hillside of Glen Garry, taking in the Falls of Bruar and a minor highpoint which offers splendid views. Start from the large car park at the House of Bruar country store complex, where there are plenty of facilities.

Take the path up the side of the Bruar Water by one of a number of routes through the buildings then follow this beneath the railway out into the forest. Continue all the way up the path on the left side of the gorge with its waterfalls and cascades, passing the lower bridge to reach the upper bridge. Cross over to follow the path up then back down the other side to reach a wooden bench at a bend in the forestry track. Break off left here and take the track which traverses the hillside, continuing past a track going up left, to reach a junction with the main forestry track.Climb uphill to the left on this track and continue past a track off right to reach a fork where you take the right branch uphill. Stay on this track to where the views open out and it starts to descend, at which point Blair Castle and Blair Atholl come into view. Break off left and follow a rough track by the side of a wall to the ruins of an old watchtower on the fine vantage point of Creag Urrard. It is worthwhile going through the gap in the wall and ascending alongside another wall to reach the highpoint of Fair Bhuidhe (462m; 1515ft), a lovely flat-topped spot among a few pine trees where there are splendid views.Return to the main track and descend towards Blair Atholl to meet another track. Turn right here and cross a brief muddy section to reach an old gate where the track splits into three. Descend the grassy left-hand track, which is steep in places and gives fairly rough going. Pass around a fallen tree to join the main track, then go right and follow this track back to the bench on the Falls of Bruar path and descend this path to cross the lower bridge and return to the car park.
