Call to have more police on the tweet

One of Scotland’s most senior policemen says officers should go on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook to find leads and to calm discussions of high-profile investigations.

Gordon Scobbie, deputy chief constable of Tayside Police, said this would require a change of attitude from some forces, where access to social networking is blocked at work.
