Scots artist’s pride as famous Italian gallery displays work

One of Scotland’s leading painters, Alison Watt, is showing her latest work at one of the most famous galleries in the world, the Uffizi in Florence.

The self-portrait, a swirling image of fabric or substance, has been unveiled at the gallery for its new Autoritratte (self-portrait) exhibition, marking another signal honour for an artist who was an associate at the National Gallery in London for three years.
