A catwalk fashion show held in the Grassmarket has given six fashion and accessory boutiques from the area the opportunity to showcase their designers.

Featuring looks from fashion boutiques including Lady Jojo's, Godiva, Just G Boutique and Swish, and perfectly accessorised by Black Box and Fabhatrix, the audience was treated to a show with a wide range of styles, sizes and price points.

Under the stunning roof of one of the Dance Base studios, 20 looks were showcased followed by the opportunity to browse through samples of clothes, hats and accessories.

Greater Grassmarket BID project manager Georgia Artus said: "The invitation to this event challenged guests to rethink their view on fashion in the Grassmarket area, and the boutique owners certainly delivered. The Grassmarket and surrounding streets are fast becoming a hotbed of fashion whether you're looking for work wear, classic dresses, casual wear, bridal or vintage - there's even something for the gents!"

Another similar event in the form of a pop-up fashion shoot held at the Grassmarket Community Project on Candlemaker Row helped to launch a month-long campaign with pop up photo shoots being found in the area every Saturday (from Saturday 5th through to and including Saturday 19th April).

Georgia Artus added: "All you need to do is purchase an item in one of the shops in the area and then head over to the Grassmarket Community Project to be photographed wearing your new item or items. There is also the chance to be styled with accessories from other local shops so why not get the girls together for a shopping spree in the Grassmarket this weekend?"
