Ox & Finch

920 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow West End

The "smoked ham hock and cheddar croquettes" "were as good as anything you get on the continent," raves Graeme H. They make the perfect starter while you look over the rest of the menu.

Mark Greenaway

69 North Castle Street, Edinburgh

Martyn M "ordered the crab cannelloni with smoked cauliflower custard, lemon pearls, herb butter, baby coriander and beetroot mayo. You think you've tasted good crab before, but you've not until you've been here. The way Mark makes it it's in 2 different parts of the dish, and thought most people would eat from the top of a dish to the bottom, Mark suggests you try both simultaneously. I did, and I enjoyed. Thoroughly!"

Dennistoun Bar-B-Que

585 Duke Street, Glasgow East End

"I had a Smoke Stack burger, which is your basic burger with onion rings and spicy onions, slathered in BBQ sauce." Tony C says "the bun was just toasted enough to be crispy without crunchy, just how I like it."

Field

41 West Nicholson Street, Edinburgh

While Tom G says "the menu is on the simple side" there's "plenty of options! We had the smoked salmon and the mackerel terrine, both dishes were fantastic - but the terrine was a game changer, such depth of flavour it was amazing."

Dram

232 Woodlands Road, Glasgow West End

"The menu was completely up my street and quite new to Dram. It's stocked full of smoked in-house meats, burgers & hot dogs," advises Pammi G. "The pulled pork was soft and flavoursome, the ribs fell off the bone using the back of my fork leaving the bone completely clean, a definite sign that they had been cooked long and low. The rib was sticky and smoky and just yum!"

Rodi

121 Morrison Street, Edinburgh

"My grilled chicken sat atop a smoked aubergine dip and was accompanied by a side of rice and grilled flat bread," says Robyn Z. "The chicken and aubergine and rice was super super tasty and I was sad to think I couldn't eat every bite! The aubergine dip had a really lovely creamy smoky taste that mixed so well with both the chicken and the rice."

The Butterfly & The Pig

153 Bath Street, Glasgow City Centre

Sharon M's "favourite dish that is the fillet of salmon with smoked haddock chowder. It was absolutely divine! It's worth mentioning at this point that The Butterfly & the Pig is commonly known for being brilliant for gluten free diets."

Timberyard

10 Lady Lawson Street, Edinburgh

Carol W says "this place has loads of locally sourced, home smoked or cured and exciting dishes to tempt you. It's in an old timberyard, and has a lovely rustic charm, floor to ceiling wine rack and a wood burning stove. What more do you need?!"

The Raven

81 Renfield Street, Glasgow City Centre

"The food is BBQ based - low and slow smoked pork, burgers, ribs, that sort of thing," says Tony C. "I opted for a pulled pork burrito with a side of spicy cheesy fries, and at £9 for the two, it was a steal."

The Dogs

110 Hanover Street, Edinburgh

Gillian L loves that "every single meal is a success - from smoked haddock kedgeree to black pudding and haggis hash. The food is always great, always interesting and always cheap."
