We're a country steeped in tradition.

As we're home to some of the oldest and most stunning cultural works in the world, we know what makes a good thing last forever.

We even know and how to apply it to new events and festivals to make them yet another memory which will go down in the history books. So why not apply it to a drink?

We love making this old-school Sidecar, a classic and vintage cocktail, but with a modern sugary twist.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons superfine sugar

1 lemon wedge

1 1/2 ounces Cognac

1 ounce Cointreau or other Triple Sec orange liqueur

1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice

1 cup ice

Method

1 Spread the superfine sugar on a small plate, then rub a lemon wedge halfway around the rim of a chilled martini glass. Dip moistened side of the glass into the sugar to lightly coat outside rim of glass, then set aside.

2 In a cocktail shaker, combine Cognac, Cointreau, and lemon juice. Add ice and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds or until well chilled. Strain into the prepared martini glass and serve.
