What is it?

A pair of sunglasses with built-in HD camera aimed at the adventure-orientated.

Wearable technology in this format first made headlines with the now defunct Google Glass which crashed and burned thanks to myriad of complex legal issues.

That opened the door for someone to create a stripped back version offering the basics without wading into the murky waters that is live internet streaming.

SunnyCam has three eyewear models each allowing users to record footage in much the same way as a traditional action-cam, with the Xtreme their most feature-packed edition.

Good Points?

The camera is positioned on the frame in between the lenses meaning it can capture footage from the perspective of the wearer's line of sight. This opens up a range of possibilities from vlogging to sport broadcasting.

The IP66-rated water resistant chassis contains a built-in HD 1080p camera and 16GB of internal storage.

One button operation provides simple and efficient usage while vibration and light status alerts allow you to enjoy your activity without worrying if the battery died.

The device comes with both clear and dark UV400 protected polarised lenses which can be swapped dependant on weather conditions.

Bad points?

The internal rechargeable battery lasts one hour which means it isn't really suitable for longer activities unless you carry an additional power pack.

Best for ...

Those who find grappling with dedicated camera mounts and their quirks a bit of a palaver.

Avoid if ...

You feel that the mind's eye will suffice for recording your precious memories.
