What is it?

An electroluminescent lighting system aimed at sports enthusiasts.

With the shorter winter days meaning darker mornings and evenings it makes sense to want to make yourself as visible as possible to fellow road users.

Good Points?

The large triangular shape is bold allowing it to stand out among the small circular lights that line the roads, while the design is distinct enough that it is unlikely to be mistaken for a traffic sign.

Its light output is powerful and offers three modes – slow blink, fast blink and solid – which gives confidence when worn on a backpack or harness.

The device itself weighs a paltry 74 grams and attaches via Velcro for stability.

The fully waterproof system has a distinct hum when the light is on which lets you know when it is off or the battery is getting low and needs replenished.

Charging is via USB and takes around three hours to complete with a run time of up to 18 hours in blinking mode which should be enough for most weekly commutes.

It is available in red, green and blue colour options.

Bad points?

The system can be difficult to use with non-Proviz garments unless you have some spare Velcro lying around.

That can mean shelling out extra cash for the specially designed backpacks or clothing to which the gadget easily attaches.

Best for ...

Those who commute by bike or runners that regularly train in dark and are looking to enhance their visibility profile on the road.

Avoid if ...

Being lit up like a Christmas tree simply isn't your thing.
