Do you have a particular person that inspires your style? If not where do you draw inspiration from?
Beau Brummell would have to be the most outstanding inspiration for my personal style. His approach to styling is still relevant today, we have named our first suit ‘The Brummell’ after him.
What is your ultimate period in terms of fashion in history?
The time of Beau Brummell -Early 1800’s to the turn of the century, impeccably dressed individuals and self styled.
Is there any fashion style that you would love to see come back into full effect in 2015/16?
Military Jackets, they were such a centre piece to my SS16 show. Very classic but also Rock’n’roll
As a successful designer what has been the most challenging thing about setting up your brand?
Survival is key to any businesses first year. In a competitive industry it is important to stand out, fortunately our unique designs, exclusive fabrics and modern take on fine British tailoring has been extremely well received which has only inspired us to grow from strength to strength
What can you tell us about menswear, LCM and it’s development in the UK?
I don’t think you need to hear it from me the importance of LCM this season more so than ever with the huge amount of buzz created from not just the menswear power houses but also the up and coming menswear talents
What has been your best fashion discovery or find?
My needle and thread.
If you could own one pair of kicks in the universe what would they be?
Designing my own pair of skate shoes.
What are your plans for the future
Introducing more accessories and suit shapes. Expanding stores and continuing to grow the brand
Where can people get your garments?
The Flagship store is located at 53 Brushfield Street in Old Spitalfields market, London.
We also have our online store where we ship internationally.
Who is your favourite muse, model?
I can't say I have but one muse, every model from our past runway shows are not only friends but encapsulate the brand and it’s ethos becoming muses to themselves.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
