FAMED celebrity restaurant the Ivy has confirmed that its first branch in Scotland will open next month.

The high-end eaterie will open to diners on September 20 in a newly refurbished premises in St Andrews Square, Edinburgh. The venture has begun taking bookings.

It comes after it emerged that the fine-dining brand has also lodged a planning application with Glasgow City Council to open a restaurant in the city's Buchanan Street as part of its expansion outside of London.

The Ivy Group said its Edinburgh restaurant will offer all-day dining, seven days a week, with approximately 130 seats, alongside a bar and mezzanine terrace.

The kitchen will be overseen by executive chef Sean Burbidge, formerly head chef at Gordon Ramsay’s London restaurant, Pétrus.
