Baking fans thought they were getting a GBBO fix earlier in the year than expected on BBC 2 on Tuesday evening.

But, hang on a minute…Bake Off Creme da la Creme is nothing like the Bake Off we all know and love.

There’s three teams of three each week. The teams are given two tasks to complete in each episode – a Miniatures Test, and a Showpiece. They’re scored out of ten (told you it was different) and then the team with the most points at the end of each heat gets a guaranteed place in the semi-finals.

And they all take it very seriously.

Here are all the reasons why Twitter missed normal Bake Off.

Those judges are definitely NOT Mary and Paul.

Seriously, people did not enjoy how different the show was without Mary.

The presenter is chef Tom Kerridge.

Wait, even the location where it’s filmed is different?!

Twitter was impressed with what the patisserie chef contestants made though.

And they thought the judging – especially of the crazy showstoppers – was a bit mean.

Yeah, in case you hadn’t realised yet, people really aren’t sure about this Bake Off.
