Yes folks: it’s Halloween.
When we were kids Halloween was a time to dress in your scariest attire and go trick-or-treating: but now we’re older things are a bit different.
You still have to get a costume, but for 90% of us the aim isn’t to scare. Instead, chances are you’ll be hitting up some kind of party, and you need to be prepared for every type of person you will definitely encounter there.
The question is: which one are you?
1. The one with the sexy outfit
A large proportion of partygoers will use Halloween as an excuse to stick on some animal ears and wear their skimpiest clothes. We’re not sure where this tradition came from, but we doubt it’s rooted in medieval customs.
2. The one with a pun-based costume
Yes, yes, you’re a fork in the road. We get it. Very clever. Next.
3. The one who has to over-explain their costume
This one is the close cousin of the pun-based costume, but this time their costume is so convoluted and bizarre that they have to spend all night explaining it. In the end only about 35% of the party will get it.
4. The one with the current affairs costume
We guarantee that every party will have a handful of Trumps getting down with a bunch of Ken Bones.
5. The one with the costume in seriously poor taste

We’re not even going to give an example here, but at every party you can be sure there’s always one who gets it terribly wrong.
6. The one with the clown costume
Urgh. Why would you dress as a creepy clown this year? We’ve had enough of the craze.
7. The one with the TV show costume
Breaking Bad, Narcos, Stranger Things…yep, if it was on Netflix, someone is going to be dressing up as it.
8. The ones with the couple costume
There’s always the couple that uses Halloween to confirm to the world they’re together.
But it’s riddled with difficulties: you can’t leave each other’s side for the entire night, because otherwise your costume is just a bit confusing.
9. The one who doesn’t make any effort
i hate in movies when people go to halloween parties & literally *everyone* is in costume. it’s not believable unless someone doesn’t bother

They’ll turn up wearing their normal clothes and whine about how much they hate Halloween. Way to put a dampener on a party.

Okay this isn’t a definite partygoer, but you know you’re at a fire soiree if they’ve got a pet in costume.
