What is it?

A wi-fi home speaker system to rival that of Sonos and bring immersive sound to the whole house. A natural evolution in audio has seen the popularity of linked speakers boom (get it?) in recent years thanks to their simple set-up and flexibility.

Good points?

Although Bluetooth connectivity is a mainstay of most modern sound systems including this one, it is important to mention in this context because the more widely used Sonos system does not offer it.

The beauty is you can defer responsibility for the music played to a friend without them having to download apps on their phone that they will never use again.

The app here is primarily used as an alternative remote control, but a neat feature allows you to programme the six buttons on both the device and dedicated remote to play designated music from various sources such as Deezer and Spotify playlists with one touch. Audio quality is admirable from a unit this size which is designed for smaller rooms.

Bad points?

The number of available wi-fi streaming services is more limited than other systems. Apple Music, for example, won't play intrinsically via the system and you will need to refer to your iPhone and Bluetooth. No battery means you are tethered to a mains power.

Best for ...

Those of a more sociable nature who like to provide music to more than one set of ears across multiple rooms.

Avoid if ...

Your primary source of music is not serviced via wi-fi as this would defeat the purpose of owning such a system. Apple Music subscribers should look elsewhere.
