What is it?

An ergonomic height adjustable laptop and tablet stand.

Tablets have enriched our lives with instant access to gaming, movies and the web, but that same convenience has resulted in strained backs and necks.

Picking up a Microsoft Surface or iPad is easy but holding one in an ergonomic way over a sustained period can be nigh-on impossible.

Thankfully the good people at BakkerElkhuizen have provided a solution with the Ergo-Q Hybrid.

Good Points?

The lightweight construction is well designed with perfectly placed hinges so the stand can be almost flat packed. This allows you to carry the Ergo-Q Hybrid around without too much hassle.

With three heights and four angle points, you can position a tablet or laptop to suit the preferences of most users. The neat holder slides up the base and is kept in place by plastic circles which are pushed into notches on the back plate.

It takes less than 30 seconds to set up a portable device in a desired position with no screws or tools required.

Bad points?

Although undoubtedly a well put together, premium product aimed primarily at business users, the price tag may be off-putting for many people when it comes to paying for what is basically a shelf.

Best for ...

Microsoft Surface users as the stand has been specially designed to hold the tablet in place using the supplied clip lock.

Avoid if ...

You use a bulkier laptop as it can be unstable, especially if the screen does not fold back to be parallel with the keyboard.

Score: 8/10.
