n Whisky brand Cutty Sark hosts a workshop on Making a Low Budget Feature Film - the Payoffs and Pitfalls at Edinburgh Filmhouse on Saturday, as part of a series of free panels in partnership with Arts & Business Scotland.

The panel discussion will be chaired by Ros Davis, film commissioner of Marketing Edinburgh Film Focus, and panellists will include producer Al Clarke and filmmaker John Maclean. The event will include a screening of John Maclean's BAFTA award winning short Pitch Black Heist starring Michael Fassbender.

n Dumfries and Galloway council is hosting a Spring Fling Taster Exhibition at Stranraer Museum to tie in with the 10th anniversary of the Spring Fling festival in June. Spring Fling is Dumfries and Galloway's annual art and craft open studios festival, and for the taster exhibition each of the 76 artists, makers and designers taking part in this year's festival in June will be exhibiting one piece of work. Exhibits span disciplines including painting, photography, jewellery, textiles, glass, ceramics and furniture.
