The California Feetwarmers, who make their UK debut at the Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow during Celtic Connections on Sunday, January 18, have just had their ability to deliver swinging Dixieland jazz recognised in the Grammy nominations. The eight-piece band is in regular demand for dance events across the U.S. and its concerts invariably turn into parties, with Lindyhop revivalists making use of any available dancing space. So when blues singer-guitarist Keb' Mo' wanted to add some old time New Orleans-style pizzazz on his latest album, Bluesamericana, he called the Feetwarmers and the result is his song The Old Me Better, which features the Feetwarmers, has been shortlisted in the Best American Roots Performance category. Bluesamericana is also shortlisted in the Best Americana Album and Best Engineered Album Non-Classical categories.
