THE bonus track on a particularly fine album that George Benson's inclusion in Glasgow Jazz Festival was compared to in Monday's Don't Miss spot on these pages turned out to have a bonus of its own.

Benson's opening act on his current tour is New Orleans-born trumpeter Christian Scott, whose quartet presented those not dallying in the bar with a thoroughly invigorating set of crisply executed, socially aware urban jazz, propelled by Jamire Williams's superbly effervescent drumming.
