WHEN Daft Punk agreed to headline the first Slam Tent at T in the Park 14 years ago – at a time when the French electronic duo were just breaking on to the scene – there were no booking agents or managers involved.
Instead, a simple fax was sent, saying "We agree to play at the Slam Tent," signed Thomas [Bangalter], of Daft Punk. It would be the most unconventional booking Geoff Ellis, the founder of the festival, would ever see.
